$4.2 Million In Fiona Relief For Victoria County

Sydney-Victoria MP Jaime Battiste announced a total of 4.2 million dollars this morning through the federal Hurricane Fiona Recovery Fund to help three organizations in Victoria County.

Victoria County is getting $286-thousand to repair and improve 10 community facilities that have been designated as climate comfort centres.

$3.45 million is going to Victoria Co-op Fisheries Limited in Neil’s Harbour to replace damaged walls on its cold storage facility and to install and expand new walls.

The Co-op will also repair its processing facility and processing equipment, as well as its staff bunkhouse.

Kelly Cove Heritage Society is getting $472,000 to repair and replace a section of its wharf that saw extensive damage during storm Fiona.
