Walsh Looking For $1.7 Million Police Budget Increase

The Police Commission met at City Hall in Sydney, this morning.

Police Chief Robert Walsh presented a proposed Regional Police budget for 2024-25 at this morning’s meeting.

Walsh is looking for a budget increase of 1.7 million dollars for a total budget of 32.2 million.

Walsh says the increase is driven mostly by higher wages and benefits.

Last year’s approved police budget was 30.5 million dollars.
