Consultant Says Former Courthouse Suitable For Library

A consultant told regional councillors today there are no major structural problems preventing the former courthouse in Sydney from being turned into a new library.

James Abend is an architectural designer with Stantec Consulting.

He presented a possible design that would see more space added to the proposed library site.

Abend says the design would allow for the many uses modern libraries can have.

He says he thinks a formal design phase for a new library would take about a year.
