NSP Opening Emergency Operations Centre Ahead Of High Winds And Rain

Nova Scotia Power is opening its emergency operations centre at 9:00 this morning with a storm bringing high winds and rain hitting the province for the third Monday in a row.

The company’s storm lead Matt Drover says they’re expecting something very similar to last Monday, with rain and high winds for long durations across much of the province.

He says crews are being positioned in various communities across the province, so they’re ready to respond quickly, when it’s safe to do so.

Crews stand down when winds reach 80 km/hr because it isn’t safe to be up in the buckets.
