Hearing Adjourned For Murder Accused

A court hearing was adjourned today for a 25-year-old woman charged with murder in the death of 48-year-old Natacha Leroy and the case is now due back in court later this week.

Carolyn Ann Dermody from North Sydney is also facing a charge of indignity to human remains.

She’s now on remand while she waits to appear by video in Wagmatcook court on Wednesday.

RCMP say Dermody was arrested on the Bedford Highway in Halifax on Thursday.

The arrest came after Leroy’s remains were found in Big Bras d’Or on November 24th.

Police say they’re also looking for a 28-year-old Big Bras d’Or man in the case.

They say he’s thought to be in the Regional Municipality but his name has not been released.
