Missing Person Case Now Being Treated As Homicide After Remains Found

RCMP say the remains of a missing woman have been found in Big Bras d’Or and the case is now being investigated as a homicide.

They say they learned about the disappearance of 48-year-old Natacha Leroy after being called on Wednesday of last week about a possible homicide at a home on Old Route 5.

They say the remains were found on Friday and the medical examiner confirmed yesterday the remains are those of Leroy.

Cape Breton Regional Police are assisting in the investigation.

There’s no word yet of any charges being laid.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
