Local Credit Unions To Merge

Members of the Sydney and North Sydney Credit Unions have voted in favour of merging.

They say the new organization will hold assets of $335 million and will serve 14,000 members from four branches.

Sydney Credit Union CEO Carol Ripley says the merger will create new opportunities for growth and innovation.

The new credit union will maintain the name Sydney Credit Union and Ripley will be the CEO.

The official merger date is January 1st.
