Boil Water Advisory Issued For Marconi, CBU

A boil water advisory has been issued for Cape Breton University and the Marconi Campus of the Community College.

CBU and the Cape Breton Health Recreation Complex are both served by Marconi’s water treatment system and the advisory covers everyone who uses the system.

The Community College says a water sample yesterday tested positive for total coliform.

It says it’s investigating the cause of the contamination and is following standard procedure for dealing with the problem.

The College goes on to say the advisory will be lifted once they get two clear reports in a row and approval from the provincial Environment Department.
