by The Health Authority has launched a new toll-free number for people who can’t make it to their scheduled diagnostic imaging appointments.
It says people in that situation are asked to call 1-844-I-REBOOK or 1-844-473-2665 as soon as possible to make sure the appointment can be used by another patient.
People can use the toll free number to reschedule appointments for bone density scans, CT scans, MRI’s and nuclear medicine tests as well as PET scans. ultrasounds and x-rays.
The line is not available for mammography services at this time.
Nova Scotia Health says patients missed more than 22,000 scheduled diagnostic imaging appointments last year.
