Premier Tim Houston Announces Major Cabinet Shuffle

Premier Tim Houston made some major changes to his cabinet, this morning.

There are three new faces in cabinet.

New MLA Twila Grosse is Minister of African Nova Scotian Affairs and Minister of the Public Service Commission, and the first female African Nova Scotian member of cabinet.

Kent Smith replaces Steve Craig, who won’t be offering in the next election, at Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Richmond MLA Trevor Boudreau is the new Minister of Community Services as well as L’Nu Affairs.

Allan MacMaster is adding communities, culture and heritage to his current portfolio that also includes finance and deputy premier.

Premier Tim Houston says Karla MacFarlane will be nominated as the first female Speaker when the Legislature resumes on October 12th with Victoria-The Lakes MLA Keith Bain resigning from the post on that day.
