Tributes Pouring In For Cape Breton Music Icon Bruce Guthro

People are fondly remembering Cape Breton singer-songwriter Bruce Guthro today.

Guthro died yesterday at the age of 62.

Coast 89.7 Manager Bill MacNeil co-produced Guthro’s first album “Sails To The Wind.”

MacNeil says Guthro’s talent was evident early on and he calls Guthro one of the top Canadian singer-songwriters of all time.

Guthro recorded as a solo artist and was lead vocalist for the Scottish Celtic rock band Runrig from 1998 until the group retired in 2018.

He received several ECMA’s and hosted and conceptualized the TV show Songwriters Circle.
