Coast 89.7 Part Of 48-Hour Facebook Boycott

The Coast 89.7 is joining many other media outlets across the country in a 48-hour boycott of Facebook, starting today.

The move is in response to Facebook owner Meta blocking Canadian news content over Bill C-18.

The Coast’s Facebook page is blocked, as a result.

Bill C-18 is designed to get social media giants such as Facebook and Twitter to pay for Canadian news content they post or share links to.

People are being asked to join the Facebook boycott in support of Canadian media outlets, including The Coast 89.7.
