Tentative Deal For School Support Staff

The union for more than 54-hundred school support staff says its reached a tentative agreement with the Regional Centres for Education and the province’s Acadian School Board.

The members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees could have gone on strike as early as Friday.

Wages were the main issue in contract talks for the bus drivers, cleaners, maintenance staff, educational program assistants and early childhood educators.

Details of the agreement have not been released.
