March Inflation Rate 4.3%

Statistics Canada says the national inflation rate for March was 4.3 percent.

That’s down from an annual increase of 5.2% in February.

The federal agency says the March rate is the smallest increase since August 2021 that stood at 4.1%.

It says on a year-over-year basis, Canadians paid more in mortgage interest costs, last month.

But that was offset by a decline in energy prices.
