Education Workers Holding Roving Rallies, Today

The union for support workers with the Cape Breton Victoria Regional Centre for Education is holding roving rallies outside the offices of six local MLA’s, today.

The offices of MLA’s of all political stripes are being targeted.

CUPE says the members of Local 5050 are joining 5000 CUPE education workers across the province in a Day of Action.

The union says it’s not been able to reach an agreement that secures significant wage increases after ten days of bargaining with the province over eleven months.

It says CUPE’s Nova Scotia School Board Council of Unions filed for conciliation in January.
