NS Announces More Funding For Children With Disabilities

The province is giving more money to families caring for children with disabilities.

Starting in April, families will get an increase of $100 to $200 a month through the Direct Family Support for Children program.

The government says a new inclusion benefit will provide an extra $115 a month per child to participate in activities.

It says unused monthly respite funds will also carry over so they’re not lost.

Summer respite funding will increase to a maximum of $2,000 for all families regardless of the child’s age.
