November Unemployment Down Slightly In CB

Stats Canada says Cape Breton’s unemployment rate was 9.8 percent in November.

That compares with an October jobless rate of 10.2 percent and an unemployment rate of 12.4 percent in November of last year.

Meanwhile, the national unemployment rate dropped a tenth of a percentage point to 5.1 percent in November.

The federal agency says employment was little changed last month with about 10,000 more jobs nationally.

Nova Scotia’s unemployment rate for November was 5.8 percent.
