Water Utility Seeking Rate Hike

The Utility and Review Board has scheduled a hearing for changes to water rates in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality.

The Water Utility is looking for a 3.6 percent increase in the average residential quarterly water bill for 2023-24.

However, there’ a decrease of 1.9 percent in 2024-25 and a .7 percent increase in 2025-26.

The hearing is scheduled to take place in Regional Council Chambers on February 22^nd.
