Funding Announced For Local Drag Racing Group

The Cape Breton Drag Racing Association is getting nearly $66,000 from the federal government to make upgrades at the Cape Breton Dragway on the Sydney-Glace Bay Highway.

The Association will use the money to help it add a full-time power supply, upgrade wiring, and enhance lighting.

A fifth racing lane is being added and parts of the track is being repaved.

Computer controlled digital scoreboards are also being bought to provide instant race results.

The upgrades are expected to be complete by the end of the year.
