James Edwards New Deputy Mayor

Council elected District 8 Councillor James Edwards as the Regional Municipality’s new deputy mayor at last night’s meeting.

Councillor Gordon MacDonald was also in the running for the role in a secret ballot.

Edwards’ one-year term starts on November 1st.

He replaces Earlene MacMullin who held the post for two years.

She wasn’t able to reoffer because a deputy mayor can’t serve for more than two consecutive terms.
