Monkeypox Vaccine Clinic Opens

The province has opened its first pre-exposure monkeypox vaccine clinic.

The Halifax Sexual Health Centre is offering free monkeypox vaccine appointments to people who are at highest risk of being exposed to the monkeypox virus.

Appointments at the Centre will be made until October 6th.

The Health Department says work is underway to establish more pre-exposure vaccination programs in other areas of the province.

Criteria to be eligible for the vaccine are based on a person’s sexual identity as well as sexual activity.
