Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang will be speaking with reporters today as opposition critics demand more details about the government’s back to school plan.
Education Minister Becky Druhan announced on Wednesday students won’t have to wear masks when they go back to class next month and she told reporters the decision was made based on advice from health officials.
That prompted Liberal Leader Zach Churchill to point out some universities are requiring masks and they also say they’re getting advice from public health.
Churchill has called on Strang to speak directly to the public about the advice he’s given.
Strang is scheduled to hold a news conference at 11:00 this morning.
