Eagles Announce MacNeil As New Assistant Coach

The Cape Breton Eagles have hired a former player as a new assistant coach.

Nick MacNeil is originally from Creignish in Inverness County and played with the Eagles for four seasons starting in 2005.

MacNeil’s most recent role saw him as an assistant coach with the Moncton Wildcats.

The Eagles say MacNeil was in the war room working with the team’s staff during the Q-League Draft earlier this week.

News of MacNeil’s hiring comes as the team looks for a new head coach following Chadd Cassidy’s resignation announcement yesterday.
