Currie Appointed To Order Of Canada

Reserve Mines native Sheldon Currie is one of 85 new appointees to the Order of Canada.

Currie’s books include The Glace Bay Miners’ Museum, The Company Store and Down the Coaltown Road.

The movie Margaret’s Museum is based on The Glace Bay Miners’ Museum.

Currie is being appointed a Member of the Order of Canada for his contributions to Canadian literature.

The Order is considered one of Canada’s highest civilian honours.
