Trial Ordered For Murder Accused

A Florence man will stand trial for second degree murder in the death of 60-year-old Robert Thomas Bradley from Sydney Mines.

A preliminary hearing was held today for John Patrick White, who is now due back in court next month to set a trial date.

40-year-old Stephen Michael Bishop from North Sydney is also charged with second degree murder in the case.

Regional Police say officers got a call in September of 2020 about an assault at a home on Brook Street in North Sydney.

They say paramedics treated the man who was assaulted but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A trial date for White is scheduled to be set on July 13^th.
