Sentencing Hearing Rescheduled In Tax Fraud Case

A sentencing hearing has been rescheduled for a Sydney Mines woman and her three daughters who’ve been found guilty in a multimillion-dollar tax fraud case.

The hearing for Lydia Saker, Nadia Saker, Angela Macdonald and Georgette Young is now scheduled to resume on June 23rd.

The Crown is recommending prison sentences of between two to four years.

The four are also facing fines of between more than $300-thousand and nearly $2 million.

They were convicted in February on 10 counts each of fraud and filing false statements with the Canada Revenue Agency.

They represented themselves during their trial last year.
