There’s going to be a meeting in Sydney tonight on proposed changes to federal ridings in the province.
The three-member commission reviewing the riding boundaries is proposing a major shakeup for the current riding of Cape Breton-Canso.
It’s planning to include all of Antigonish County, including the Town of Antigonish, in a new riding that would be called Cape Breton-Antigonish.
There are no plans to change the boundaries of Sydney-Victoria.
Boundaries are redrawn across Canada every 10 years to reflect population changes in the census.
Tonight’s meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 this evening at the Cambridge Suites Hotel on the Esplanade in Sydney.
