New Local Arts Festival Being Launched

Tickets are on sale today for the first event of a new arts festival in Cape Breton.

The Stone & Sand & Sea & Sky Coastal ARTS Festival debuts with what organizers are calling a soft launch event on June 18th at the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay.

The concert There’s Something in the Wind will be hosted by Bette MacDonald.

It will feature a number of performers including Mary Jane Lamond, Jenn Sheppard, Isabella Samson, Jordan Musycsyn and Sam Moon along with the Second Wind Community Concert Band.

Starting next year, the Festival will be a multi-day event featuring, theatre, dance, storytelling and visual art at venues in Sydney, Glace Bay and Louisbourg.

Tickets for the June 18th concert are available at the Savoy Theatre Box Office.
