The price of diesel dropped by 7.6 cents a litre overnight after the Utility and Review Board invoked its interrupter clause.
Diesel now goes for a minimum of $1.97.3 in Cape Breton.
The board says the move was necessary because of a significant change in the market price for diesel.
The price of gas didn’t change and gas still goes for a minimum of $1.67.1 on the island.
