Province Announces Funding For CBU Centre For Discovery And Innovation

The province is contributing $35 million toward construction of a Centre for Discovery and Innovation at Cape Breton University.

CBU announced plans for the 80-million dollar facility in 2020.

But the project is contingent on funding from both the province and Ottawa.

The province also announced today CBU will get $14 million for deferred maintenance and $5 million for planning for a strategic health initiative.

The initiative will research and explore new ways to recruit, train, and keep healthcare workers in the province.
