Province Announces Cost Of Living Support Package

The province has announced it’s spending $13.2 million to help vulnerable people deal with the effects of rising fuel prices on the cost of living.

The support package includes a one-time payment of $150 to people getting income assistance, including people getting income support on the Disability Support Program.

There’s also a one-time, $150 payment to people enrolled in the Heating Assistance Rebate Program, with the payment expected to be made by the end of next month.

The province is also giving $1 million to Feed Nova Scotia and $200,000 is going to local food banks across the province that are not part of the Feed Nova Scotia network.
