NS Reporting Four Deaths, Four Hospitalizations, Local Hospital Outbreak, 362 Cases

The province is reporting four more COVID-19 deaths today, as well as four more hospitalizations and a new outbreak in a ward at Harbourview Hospital in Sydney Mines.

Health officials say fewer than five patients have tested positive in the latest outbreak at the hospital.  

Those who died were a man in his 90’s in the Eastern Zone, a man in his 90’s in the Central Zone, a woman in her 50s in the Central Zone and a man in his 80s in the Western Zone.

As of late this afternoon, there were 45 people in the province in hospital after being admitted because of COVID-19, including 12 people in intensive care.

362 more lab-confirmed cases of the virus are also being reported today.

Of those cases, 144 are in the Central Zone, with 80 in the Eastern Zone, 63 in the Northern Zone and 75 in the Western Zone.
