CBU Students’ Union Election Results Overturned

The results of the Students’ Union election at Cape Breton University were overturned this week.

Courtney DeGiobbi and Rahul Luthra were elected unofficially as President and Executive Vice President by a narrow margin over their nearest competitors.

The union says an appeal was launched by a student and an appeals committee found the election to be null and void.

It says the student who launched the appeal brought forth concerns but it doesn’t say exactly what those concerns were.

New election dates will be announced at the next student council meeting on Friday.
