Curry Loses Funeral Director Licence

The province’s Board of Registration of Embalmers and Funeral Directors has revoked Joe Curry’s funeral director license effective immediately.

The move comes after a wrongful cremation at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens on the Sydney-Glace Bay Highway.

The Board says Curry will no longer be allowed to conduct business, carry on the duties, or act in the capacity of a funeral director.

The decision comes after it held an in inquiry last month into claims of professional misconduct and non-compliance with the Embalmers and Funeral Directors Act and Regulations.

The Board says Curry carried out the wrongful cremation.
