Province Reporting Five COVID-19 Deaths, Eight Hospitalizations, 365 Cases, Local Long-Term Care Outbreak

The province is reporting five more COVID-19 deaths today, as well as eight more hospitalizations and an outbreak at a local long-term care facility.

Six staff members have tested positive at Seaview Manor in Glace Bay, where the province says increased health measures and restrictions are now in place.

A woman in her 80s in the Eastern Zone is among those who died, along with a woman in her 60’s in the Northern Zone, a woman in her 70’s in the Western Zone and two women in their 90’s in the Central Zone.

There are 91 people in the province in hospital after being admitted because of COVID-19, including 16 people in intensive care.

365 new lab-confirmed cases of the virus are also being reported today.

117 of those cases are in the Central Zone, with 59 in the Eastern Zone, 82 in the Northern Zone and 107 in the Western Zone.
