Nova Scotia Power Activates Its Emergency Operations Centre

Nova Scotia Power has activated its Emergency Operations Centre in advance of the winter storm.

The utility says it expects the storm to cause power outages across the province with heavy, wet snow and high winds in the forecast.

It says powerline crews and forestry teams have been deployed around the province.

The company says people should be prepared for power outages by having an emergency kit with flashlights, battery-powered radio and fresh water.

It says people can report outages and get estimated restoration times on its website or by calling 1-877-428-6004.
