NS Reporting 586 New COVID Cases

Health officials are reporting 586 new cases of COVID-19 today and they say 24 people in the province are now in hospital with the virus.

That’s up from 15 when hospitalization numbers were last reported on Friday.

Three COVID-19 patients are now in intensive care in the province.

That’s down from four on Friday.

Health officials are estimating a total of over 5,000 active cases in Nova Scotia.

Of the cases reported today, 393 are in the Central Zone, with 106 in the Eastern Zone, 56 in the Northern Zone and 31 in the Western Zone.

Premier Tim Houston and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to give a COVID-19 update at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon.
