Sydney Doctor Allan MacDonald Appointed As Member Of Order Of Canada

Dr. Allan MacDonald from Sydney is one of 135 new appointments announced today to the Order of Canada.

MacDonald is being appointed as a Member of the Order.

The Governor General’s website says MacDonald is being granted the honour for what it calls his pioneering innovations in the field of kidney, liver and pancreas transplantation.

The Order of Canada is one of our country’s highest civilian honours.

It recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to the community and service to the nation.
