NS Reporting 485 New COVID Cases, Outbreak At Halifax Long-Term Care Home

The province is continuing to see record daily COVID-19 case counts with 485 new cases being reported today and an outbreak has been declared at a long-term care home in Halifax.

A resident and a staff member at Parkstone Enhanced care have tested positive for the virus.

No one from the home is in hospital with the virus and public health is working to prevent further spread.

Of the new cases reported today, 317 are in the Central Zone, with 57 in the Eastern Zone, 36 in the Northern Zone and 75 in the Western Zone.

Nine people in the province are now in hospital with COVID-19, including two people in intensive care.

Premier Tim Houston and Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang are scheduled to give another COVID-19 update at 2:00 tomorrow afternoon.
