NS Reporting 287 New COVID Cases

The province is reporting a record 287 new cases of COVID-19 today.

There are 191 new cases in the Central Zone, 57 in the Eastern Zone, 24 in the Northern Zone and 15 in the Western Zone.

Six people in the province are now in hospital with the virus, including two people in intensive care.

There are currently no hospitalizations in the Eastern Zone.

The province says it’s still facing a backlog in follow-up because of the spike in testing and cases.

It says Public Health will try to contact anyone confirmed positive by the lab within 24 hours to provide information on required quarantining and testing.

All cases will be asked to contact their close contacts.
