by The Department of Education says public schools will be starting their holiday break early.
Most students will start their break after classes end on Friday.
The Department says the decision is based on staffing pressures and is not a public health decision.
The Department says all staff will report to work as usual next week unless they have to quarantine for health reasons.
The start of the official school holiday break will still be on Wednesday of next week.
Learning centres will stay open on December 20th and 21st for students whose needs are met through learning centres and need more support.
