The province says people with uninsurable damage from the heavy rain and windstorm on November 23rd can apply for disaster financial assistance starting today.
Applications are available online and will also be available at Access Nova Scotia centres, MLA offices, municipal offices and by calling 211.
The application period will be open for about three months.
The program covers uninsurable losses of up to $200,000 per household and there’s no deductible.
It applies to structural damage to homes as well as damage to basic household goods and appliances, including washers, dryers and furnaces.
