by The Health Authority is extending its deadline to confirm people on its doctor waiting list are still looking for a family doctor or nurse practitioner.
It says people on the Need a Family Practice Registry should get an e-mail, automated phone call, or letter to confirm their information is up to date by December 17th.
Nova Scotia Health says people on the registry who don’t get contacted by that date should call 811 to update their information.
It’s also asking people who get a call with an unknown number or a number that’s all zeros to answer.
There are now about 82,000 people on the family doctor waiting list.
