Roads Flooded And Washed Out After Heavy Rain

The province’s 511 map shows more than a dozen roads in Victoria and neighbouring Inverness County closed because of flooding and washouts.

People in both counties are being told to avoid road travel and the province says the Department of Public Works will assess roads and bridges for safety at daylight.

People in Ingonish say they’re cut off because roads in and out of the community are flooded or washed out.

Meanwhile, the Regional Municipality says there are street closures in the Townsend Street area as well as on Royal Avenue and Cabot Street in Sydney because of flooding.
