NS Reports COVID Death, 56 New Cases

The province is reporting another COVID-19 death today, along with 56 new cases of the virus.

Health officials say the person who died was a man in his 80s in the Eastern Zone.

One of the new cases reported today is in the Eastern Zone that includes Cape Breton.

There are also 30 new cases in the Western Zone, with 18 in the Central Zone and seven in the Northern Zone.

The province says there’s community spread in the Northern and Western Zones, mostly related to a recent religious gathering.

The province is also reporting 29 more recoveries today, bringing its total amount of confirmed cases to 281, including 15 in the Regional Municipality.

10 people in the province are now in hospital with the virus, including two people in intensive care.
