NS Reports 40 New COVID Cases

The province is reporting 40 new cases of COVID-19 today.

There are 21 new cases in the Central Zone, with 11 in the Western Zone and eight in the Northern Zone.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Robert Strang says an increase in cases over the last few days is largely connected to a recent religious event.

Strang says the majority of those cases involve people who are not vaccinated.

With 31 new recoveries being reported today, there’s now a total of 220 confirmed active cases of COVID-19 in Nova Scotia, including 17 in the Regional Municipality.

Nine people in the province are currently in hospital with the virus, including one person in intensive care.
