Hearing Adjourned For Robbery Accused

A plea hearing was adjourned today for a Sydney man charged after a robbery at a Sydney pizza shop.

32-year-old Wayne Joseph Piercey faces single counts of robbery and theft and seven counts of breaching court orders.

Regional Police say they were called to Kenny’s Pizza on Townsend Street shortly after 8:00 on the night of September 25th.

They say staff say a man jumped onto the counter, demanded money from the till and then ran away.

Police say they arrested someone matching his description near Bentinck Street a few minutes later.

Piercey remains on remand and is due in court for a plea hearing on December 2nd
