Verdict Delayed In Fraud Case

A Sydney Mines woman and her three daughters accused of defrauding the federal government of $3.6 million did not learn the verdict in their trial today as scheduled.

Lydia Saker and her daughters, Georgette Young, Angela MacDonald and Nadia Saker, are accused of submitting false documents to the Canada Revenue Agency for tax rebates.

A verdict is now scheduled to be handed down on January 24^th.

A six-week trial in the case wrapped up in July.

The women represented themselves.
