by A three-storey home in Glace Bay has been destroyed by an overnight fire.
Glace Bay fire chief John Chant says they received the call at around 11:30 last night; the caller reported seeing smoke coming from the windows of 10 Marconi Street.
Chant says when firefighters arrived on scene, the home was fully ablaze; the fire had climbed through the house’s structure and made its way to the attic.
Firefighters were called in from Reserve Mines, Dominion and Sydney to help contain the blaze, with crews on scene until 7:30 this morning.
One firefighter suffered minor burns battling the blaze.
