A Glace Bay man was given a three-year jail sentence today after pleading guilty to criminal negligence in the death of his four-month-old son.
Jason Wayne Comer changed his plea to guilty in the case during a court appearance in April.
The case dates back to October of 2019, when police were called about an infant in distress at a home in Glace Bay.
The child was taken to hospital and later pronounced dead.
In addition to his jail sentence, Comer is banned from owning firearms for 10 years and he’s been ordered to submit a DNA sample to the national database.
